Businesses such as pubs and restaurants are licensed to sell alcohol for customers to drink on the premises (‘on-sales’).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government passed regulations allowing them to sell alcohol for takeaway, delivery and to drink in licensed pavement areas (‘off-sales’), without changing their licence.
The regulations expire on 31 March 2025. This consultation sets out permanent options for alcohol licensing after this date.
This consultation closes on 11 July 2024.

The Social Housing White Paper included a commitment to introduce an access to information scheme for the social housing tenants of private registered providers (PRPs). The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) will allow social housing tenants and their designated representatives to request access to information related to the management of their housing.
The Secretary of State has the power to direct the Regulator on certain aspects of its regulatory standards. Government propose to use this power to direct the Regulator to introduce requirements for PRPs to comply with the requirements in the STAIRs policy statement. This consultation seeks views on the content of the policy statement, which outlines the requirements providers will need to meet under STAIRs.
This consultation closes on 15 July 2024.

This consultation seeks views on the approaches government should consider around modernising the welfare system for people with disabilities and health conditions.
Government state: “We want to ensure that we have a welfare system that is fit for the future, a system that supports work for people who can, provides a safety net for people who need it, and that is fair to the taxpayer. This consultation seeks views on whether we should make fundamental changes to how we support disabled people and people with health conditions, and whether our system delivers the right support to people most in need.”
This consultation closes on 22 July 2024.
