Concerns are mounting particularly in Cumbria about the pace of housing growth with some homes sitting empty.
Allerdale Borough Council’s planning panel refused a bid from Story Homes to build 67 homes last Thursday with concerns from the residents of Thursby losing 'the village feel.'
A resident of the existing development said that noise from the nearby A595 and a wind turbine is already an issue and that 67 additional homes would only make the issue worse.
He claimed that living conditions could be “unbearable.”
