Through the development of the South West Mobility Strategy and our engagement with communities, Peninsula Transport has identified a case for a sweep of rural mobility pilots to be developed across the region. These will help address key challenges like sustainability, connectivity, decarbonisation and accessibility (to name a few), making them more liveable communities.
Along with neighbouring STB and Western Gateway, Peninsula Transport will be funding up to £100,000 to support successful pilot applications.
To be in with a chance of having a project taken forward, applicants must demonstrate how their pilot project addresses at least one of the six Grand Challenges detailed in the rural mobility prospectus. These are:
In addition to their beauty, these countryside and coastal places also offer economic, environmental and technological benefits, but are often forgotten in favour of urban areas.
