Winning the Rural Vote

In anticipation of a forthcoming general election, it's crucial to address the challenges faced by rural communities. Constituting 40% of parliamentary constituencies, rural votes hold significant sway. The Rural Services Network recently launched the WINNING THE RURAL VOTE campaign in parliament, urging political parties to recognise rural issues.

Kerry Booth, RSN Chief Executive

"Rural communities stand at a crossroads, facing underfunded services, unaffordable housing, and a digital gap hindering progress. Now is the time for political leaders to recognise the untapped potential within these landscapes and take bold, decisive action. Our campaign is a call for transformative policies that not only address the unique challenges of rural life but pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive, fairer future for all."

With 40% of constituencies being rural, political parties must recognise the potential impact of these votes. The RSN's roadmap isn't just for rural communities; it's a strategy for national growth and prosperity. As we focus on a general election, prioritising rural issues benefits not only these communities but the entire nation.
